David S. Berman Shareholder
DESCRIPTIVE BIO Mr. Berman represents and advises electric power and other clients with respect to matters before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), the federal Courts of Appeals and other regulatory agencies on various issues. These issues include:
the formation of independent transmission companies and maintaining compliance with the FERC's independence requirements;
representation of clients in transmission and other rate proceedings;
proceedings relating to market design and market mechanisms for wholesale energy and ancillary services markets;
representation of market-based rate sellers with respect to their initial applications for market-based rate authority and the required renewals; and
matters related to the FERC's standards of conduct and code of conduct.
Mr. Berman also represents clients in FERC-related transactional matters relating to the sale or acquisition of both generation and transmission assets.
EDUCATION Mr. Berman received his B.A. from Washington University in 1982. In 1993, Mr. Berman received his J.D. from the Catholic University of America, where he was an editorial assistant for the Catholic University Law Review.
